Dear neighbor,
The Abington Fire company is 100% volunteer and we are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and ready to lend assistance to you, the members of our community. In 2019, these volunteers responded to 694 calls for service. In between calls for service, training and fire prevention events/activities, members spent over 3,000 hours volunteering.
Although we receive an operational budget from the township, it is only a portion of the funds needed to keep us fully functioning. We Thrive on your generous donations. Your dollars are used for three primary reasons: Firehouse maintenance, new equipment and funding Advanced Training opportunities for our members. Therefore, once a year the Abington Fire Company reaches out to all the residents that we serve for our annual fund Drive. We all understand that many people are on tight budgets just like us, so we appreciate any support provided to us that your budget may allow. Community Assistance year after year allows us to continue to provide a professional level of response in times of emergency.
The firehouse, our house, is always open to you. We encourage residents to stop by, visit, ask questions and see what the volunteer service is all about. The doors are always open to the community we so proudly serve.
As a volunteer organization, we are always looking for new members and we encourage anyone interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer to stop in. Membership is open to any Abington resident, 16 years of age or older. Please remember there are many duties that can be performed in addition to firefighting. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or for more information, call off at (215) 572-0312 or visit us at www.abingtonfire.net. Like us on Facebook to keep up with the latest Firehouse events.
Thank you for your continued support and generous contribution.
