Ed Lambert Sr.

Our friend and fellow member, Ed Lambert Sr., died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2004. Ed joined in May of 1960 and was very active during his 43 years of service. He held the rank of First Assistant Chief ("112") for 27 years. Ed was very well known throughout the area from his years of fighting fires, attending parades with the fire company, and judging apparatus at others. Above all, he was known as a fireman who took pride in his Fire Company and their apparatus.

The Abington Fire Company, the entire Abington Township Fire Department, and many surrounding fire companies paid tribute to Ed by being a part of the services and the very large procession as Ed was carried to his resting place on top of the company's 1949 Ahrens Fox.
